Current research involves the urban transition in Ghana and its relations to land cover and land use change through analysis of multi-scale and mullti-temporal statellite image data.

Polar Regions

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) links location based information (spatial) to database information (tabular) enabling the user to visualize patterns, relationships and trends. During the past several years, the Department of Geography has become an important vehicle for student geospatial training and support through tailored short-term projects undertaken in cooperation with university departments and offices, local non-profit organizations, bilateral and multilateral agencies, government organizations, and private institutions.

The primary research of the Center within Washington DC has been performing work in collaboration with Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC).
