Washington, D.C.

The primary research of the Center within Washington DC has been performing work in collaboration with Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC).  The Center’s work has focused on using Geographic Information System (GIS) analyses of patient data from CNMC. We have worked on a variety of projects including mapping thermal burn injuries, immunization rates, childhood obesity, asthma, and non-urgent visits to the Emergency Room. Results from this work have been used for community interventions and publishing research articles, including a publication in Pediatrics. This work has been in collaboration with individual researchers: Stephen Teach, Brian Jacobs, David Mathison, Linda Fu, and Randall Burd.
